As many of you know, our current guidelines cycle will end in 2025, so we have been working on our next set of guidelines. Our new Co-Chairs, Drs. Greg Hundemer and Remi Goupil, have designed a new process for our guidelines development, where we will be creating two sets of guidelines: primary care and comprehensive guidelines.
Earlier in the summer, our Guidelines Executive Committee formed our Primary Care subcommittee, which has been hard at work on our primary care guidelines. This set of guidelines aim to be simple and easy for primary care providers to implement. These guidelines are also based on the HEARTS framework, which has found tremendous success in countries across Latin America. The subcommittee has taken part of this framework and adapted it to a Canadian context. Now that the subcommittee has finalized the new diagnosis and treatment algorithms, we invite healthcare professionals from across Canada to submit your feedback by October 25th.
