This week, the Canadian Journal of Cardiology published an editorial that calls for a national hypertension control program to be re-established. The Chair of our Canadian Hypertension Coalition, Dr. Norm Campbell, and our President, Dr. Ross Tsuyuki, were both cited in the editorial, and emphasized the importance of having a control program (especially since hypertension control rates have been in decline for the past decade). The urgency of this plea is underscored as a proactive measure to safeguard the well-being of the population and mitigate potential long-term consequences.
