Summary of CHS AWARDS
Listed below are descriptions of for the various personnel awards offered by The Canadian Hypertension Society (CHS). Applicants should verify rules and eligibility criteria on the CIHR website for all fellowship and scholarship awards.
CHS/CIHR Fellowships (two year award) Applicants should apply directly to CIHR with a letter stating that they want to be considered for the joint CHS/CIHR award.
Pfizer/CHS/CIHR RX&D Doctoral Research Award (two year award) Applicants should apply directly to CIHR with a letter stating that they want to be considered for the joint CHS/CIHR award.
BASIC & CLINICAL SUMMER STUDENTSHIPS FOR 2009
(DEADLINE February 15, 2009)
In 2009, BMS/Sanofi-Aventis has partnered with CHS to offer 4 new Basic-Science Summer Research Studentships. In addition, Astra Zeneca has partnered with CHS to offer 6 new Clinical-Science Research Studentships as well! We welcome applications for both of these awards. The value of each will be $3,750.00 from CHS, and $1,250.00 from the supervisor, to provide a total student stipend of $5,000. To be eligible for these awards, both the supervisor and the student must be paid up members of the CHS for 2009 (stay tuned for a revised membership application and dues notification in January 2009). Applications must be received at the CHS Secretariat Office by February 15, 2009.
